Job description

Job Description:
Love pets? Us too.
At Chewy, we're looking for a Digital Content Creator to help bring social-first stories to life across Chews. As a hands-on member of our Creative team, you'll concept, create, and deliver content that connects with pet parents across paid and organic social channels. You'll turn briefs, campaign ideas, and cultural moments into platform-native photo, video, motion, and static content, moving from idea through final delivery with speed, sound judgment, and attention to quality.
Our ideal candidate is equal parts creator, producer, designer, and visual storyteller. You understand what makes content resonate across platforms and can concept, shoot, produce, design, and edit work independently when speed and agility matter. You also know when an idea needs support from photographers, videographers, producers, or agency partners.
At Chewy, we're building more content in-house. We're looking for someone with strong creative instincts, solid design skills, and a clear understanding of social-first storytelling. You stay close to platform behaviors and culture, test new formats and tools, and apply performance insights to make the work more effective.
This role reports to the Associate Creative Director, Chewy and is expected to work in person at least three days a week in Plantation, FL.
What you'll do
  • Concept, create, and deliver high-quality photo, video, motion, and static content across paid and organic social channels.
  • Independently take social-first and performance-focused assignments from brief through final delivery, including ideation, shooting, producing, designing, editing, and versioning.
  • Create platform-native content for TikTok, Meta, YouTube Shorts, and other relevant channels, adapting each idea for the audience, format, placement, and campaign objective.
  • Contribute ideas to campaign development and translate broader creative concepts into social-first executions that align with Chewy's brand standards and platform best practices.
  • Partner with Creative Directors, Art Directors, marketers, copywriters, strategists, and producers from the early stages of development through launch.
  • Work with original and pre-existing photography, video, copy, motion, and design assets to build content tailored to individual platforms and audiences.
  • Identify emerging trends, formats, creators, and platform behaviors, then turn relevant opportunities into timely brand content.
  • Write and refine social-first copy, including captions, headlines, and post copy, when needed.
  • Use AI-powered creative tools and modern production workflows to speed up ideation, production, versioning, and iteration while maintaining Chewy's quality and brand standards.
  • Review campaign performance and creative insights with partners, then apply learnings to improve future content.
  • Manage multiple assignments, communicate timelines and status, respond to feedback, and meet rapid turnaround needs.
  • Support larger photo and video productions when an idea requires added scale, specialized talent, or agency support.

What you'll need
  • 3+ years of experience concepting, creating, designing, and producing social-first content across multiple digital platforms.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates visual storytelling, content creation, campaign execution, and social-first creative thinking.
  • Proven ability to concept, shoot, produce, design, and edit content independently while knowing when to bring in additional creative or production partners.
  • Strong experience in photography, videography, editing, motion, and post-production, with an eye for composition, lighting, pacing, and storytelling.
  • Hands-on experience creating lo-fi, organic, and UGC-style social video, including shooting and editing natively in platform apps.
  • Strong design skills in typography, layout, composition, and brand systems.
  • A solid understanding of paid and organic social media, platform best practices, performance marketing needs, and emerging content trends.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. Experience with After Effects, Figma, and native social editing tools is preferred.
  • Experience using or experimenting with AI-powered creative tools to improve efficiency and support content development.
  • Experience writing social-first copy, including captions, headlines, and post copy.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment, accountability, and the ability to move work forward with limited direction.
  • A collaborative, kind, and empathetic approach, plus a genuine love of pets and comfort working with animals of all shapes and sizes.
  • A resume and portfolio are required with your application.
  • Travel expectation: up to 10%.
