Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a 2nd Shift EVOL Operator to join our Corrugated facility in Huntsville, AL!
Salary
  • Starting at $27.99/hr.
    • 2nd Shift Differential - $1.00/hr.

Shift
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Must be available and flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
What You Will Do
Safety and Compliance:
  • Correctly perform Lockout/Tagout/Try (APM & ZES) procedures.
  • Review and understand Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Identify all emergency stops on the machine and demonstrate understanding of its use

Technical Skills:
  • Properly read and understand hard cards and print cards.
  • Accurately read and use measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, and caliper gauges.
  • Enter orders correctly into the setup console.
  • Demonstrate and properly mount printing plates and cutting dies.

Machine Setup and Operation:
  • Properly set up the prefeeder, glue system, slotter heads, folding rails, and counter ejector.
  • Demonstrate and properly set up the bundler and load former.
  • Operate and set up conveyors and other machine components.
  • Perform set-up and troubleshooting of the Clear Vision system and bottom sheet inserter.

Quality Control:
  • Understand and properly check ink viscosity and pH.
  • Use color matching systems appropriately.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections correctly using the QMS system.
  • Inspect finished units thoroughly to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Properly identify and record all waste.

Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Demonstrate proper repair of rubber on die boards (if applicable).
  • Understand and access FFF/KIWI for maintenance procedures.
  • Understand die cut diagrams and perform necessary adjustments.

Production Efficiency:
  • Properly complete quality checks in the QMS system.
  • Record lead to trail skew using a micrometer.
  • Demonstrate understanding of load identification and stack patterns.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • (3) years of experience in a manufacturing, military environment, or similar environment
  • (2) years of hands-on experience with CNC equipment in a manufacturing, military or similar environment
  • (1) year hands on experience with computers, tablet, or smart device in a manufacturing, military or similar environment
  • (1) year hands on experience with measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs in a manufacturing, military or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
