Food Runner / Expo (FOH Support)

The Belmont | Wichita, KS

The Belmont is seeking a dependable, organized, and hospitality-focused Food Runner / Expo to join our team. This position plays a critical role in connecting our kitchen and dining room by ensuring every dish is finished correctly, delivered promptly, and presented according to our standards.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, communicating with both culinary and service teams, and creating exceptional guest experiences, we'd love to meet you.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assist chefs with final plate presentation and garnishing of dishes.
  • Organize completed plates and coordinate the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room.
  • Ensure all food is delivered to the correct table and seat position.
  • Work closely with the Chef and follow directions on the expo line.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expo station.
  • Support servers and culinary staff to ensure smooth service during busy shifts.
  • Interact with guests professionally and uphold The Belmont's hospitality and service standards.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and plate presentations.
  • Understand dining room table numbers, seat positions, and floor charts to ensure accurate food delivery.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn menu knowledge, dining room layouts, and service standards.

Training Requirements

All Food Runner / Expo team members will complete training that includes:

  • Menu knowledge and ingredient identification.
  • Plate presentation and garnishing standards.
  • Table numbers, seat positions, and dining room floor chart knowledge.
  • Food running and guest interaction standards.
  • Communication procedures with the culinary and service teams.
  • Successful completion of a menu test and floor chart test prior to working independently.

Complimentary meals are provided during training.
