QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School graduate.
  2. Previous experience working with school age children and/or university related course work.
  3. Demonstrate aptitude and/or competence working with school age children.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist the supervisor in program implementation, which provides for physical activities, self-expression through arts, crafts and play, and socialization with peers.
  2. Work cooperatively with site team, Program Coordinator, school building principal and building staff to share space cooperatively.
  3. Assist in the maintenance of program equipment and supplies.
  4. Develop effective communication with the parents of children enrolled in the program.
  5. Assist in providing a safe, nurturing, child-oriented environment.
  6. Assist Supervisor and Program Coordinator in ensuring site meets DHS licensing regulations.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

RATE OF PAY: $16.04 - $18.21
Pay based on education and experience.
HOURS: Monday - Friday
6:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and/or
3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

T.B test upon employment at the expense of the applicant.
Upon recommendation for employment, applicants must be fingerprinted under the Revised School Code (MCL 380.1230a) and under the Childcare Organizations Act (MCL 722.111). The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. The cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.
A second set of fingerprints is also needed for LARA (childcare licensing). The cost is approximately $61.00. Free vouchers may be available from LARA.
