Job description:
Do you have a passion for cosmetology and enjoy inspiring the next generation? We are seeking a creative, knowledgeable, and engaging Cosmetology Instructor to lead an after-school enrichment program for middle school students interested in beauty, wellness, and personal care.
The instructor will introduce students to the fundamentals of cosmetology through fun, hands-on activities and demonstrations. Topics may include hair styling techniques, basic skincare, nail care, beauty trends, hygiene, salon safety, and career opportunities within the beauty industry. The program should encourage creativity, professionalism, self-confidence, and self-expression while providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate cosmetology lessons and activities.
  • Teach foundational cosmetology concepts, including hair care, skincare, nail care, hygiene, and salon safety.
  • Demonstrate basic beauty techniques using safe, educational practices.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Supervise students throughout the program and ensure their well-being.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and program coordinators.
  • Arrive prepared with lesson plans, materials, and supplies for each class.

Qualifications
  • Experience in cosmetology, esthetics, barbering, nail technology, beauty education, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching, mentoring, or working with youth is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for beauty education and helping students explore new skills and career interests.
