Hub Pen Company, part of the HPG Brands, is an award-winning supplier in the promotional products industry supplying imprinted quality writing instruments to its distributors throughout the United States and Canada. This is a career opportunity to join our dynamic, fast growing, privately held company, and become part of our winning team.


We are looking for Production Associates to join our team. You'll be cross trained across all aspects of Production to be able to set up, maintain, and operate machinery. There are 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm shifts available.

Types of equipment that production associates would be working on are:

  • Digital full color printing machines
  • Silk screen printing machines
  • Laser engraving machines
  • Automated packaging machines

A great Production Associate is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines (preparing screens, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws and to ensure highest quality
  • Report on issues, malfunction, or defective parts
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Meet the deadlines of individual production tasks during shift, including ship dates
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided)
  • Responsibilities for making sure the correct imprint goes onto the correct sales order
  • Keep the worksite clean to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products
  • Review and follow manufacturing manuals to build machinery 
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Follow the company's safety and quality guidelines
  • Maintain equipment in good condition
  • Responsible for the correct method of ink to thinner ratio when setting up items to be printed
  • Responsible for correct break down of machine and proper handling of the ink when the order is finished
  • Ensure the next incoming shift has adequate supplies to ensure a smooth transition shift to shift
  • Cross training across all departments within production
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated
  • Ability in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable means of transportation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask, manage time, and maintain a high-level of accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to work well under pressure to output high volume, high quality work
  • Solution provider with a positive "can-do "attitude
  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed
