Informatics Analyst, Epic Certified and Clinical experience. Job Summary
The Clinical Information Systems Specialist supports and optimizes clinical systems across the hospital network, serving as a key liaison between clinical leaders and IT. This role provides day-to-day operational support, leads system planning and development efforts, and ensures effective workflow integration. Responsibilities include analyzing user needs, documenting requirements, conducting system testing, training end users, and collaborating with vendors to align system functionality with organizational goals. The specialist monitors system performance, recommends improvements, and assists in developing policies and procedures for clinical system usage.
Candidates should hold Epic certification (Ambulatory, Clarity, Orders, or ClinDoc), possess clinical experience (RN or similar preferred), and have 3-5 years of clinical information systems support or implementation experience. Strong knowledge of CMS regulatory reporting, SQL reporting skills, and experience with process improvement initiatives are beneficial. Florida residency or 1099 contractor status is required.Position Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the clinical information systems in the hospital network.
  • Serves as a resource person for the daily operational issues of the hospital's clinical systems
  • Acts as the key point of contact between clinical leaders (including physicians) and Information Technology clinical initiatives in developmental, implementation and production environments.
  • Provides leadership, facilitates and enables the planning, development, maintenance and evaluation of clinical information systems and workflow with representatives of the organization
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs and clinical systems.
  • Acts as the internal expert on clinical systems functionality and capabilities, and keeps abreast of changes to the base system.
  • Documents functional and technical requirements, mapping process flows, documenting test plans, conducting system testing, documenting user manuals and administering training.
  • Work with the clinical customers to understand their requirements, map process models, design technical solutions to satisfy requirements, and complete formal system testing.
  • Work with vendors to understand product features and align the MSMC implementation strategy with the vendor's product roadmap. Using this information, educate the MSMC end users on available functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and report anomalies, errors, inaccuracies or inefficiencies. Make recommendations as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with - and communicate between - IT leadership and the clinical community to provide leadership for clinical systems projects and initiatives.
  • Train, educate, and instruct clinical users on features, operation, and usage of software systems.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the usage of clinical information systems.
Qualifications
    • Hospital Experience Desired
    • Epic Ambulatory, Epic Clarity or Orders or ClinDoc certified
    • Experience as an RN or other clinical area preferred
    • 3+ years Epic software implementation or support experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • SQL reporting experience preferred
    • Strong understanding of CMS reporting programs (e.g., MIPS, ACO, eCQM) for Regulatory
    • 3-5 years prior experience working in a clinical information systems environment and familiarity with process/performance improvement; implementing change; risk assessments; and gap analysis
    • Florida resident or 1099 Contractor
