Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, Good Judgement, Good oral and written communication skills, Excellent grammar skills, Ability to support students through individualized academic assistance, Ability to simplify and clearly explain complex concepts
Qualifications-The student hired for this position should know how to:
• Effectively Communicate: Student must have effective and clear verbal and written communication (including listening skills).
• Demonstrate Critical Thinking: Students must engage in critical thinking (problem solving, decision-making, applied knowledge, creativity) to initiate and implement solutions to problems.
• Participate as a Productive Member of a Team: Student must use teamwork skills (relationship building, interpersonal skills) and become a contributor to the department.
• Utilize Information & Technology Effectively: Student must have current technology skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, etc.)
• Implement Self-Management Skills: Student must be dependable with strong work habits; able to manage time and priorities, work independently, punctual and operate for the greater good & provide service to all.
• Cultural Inclusion: Student must demonstrate openness, inclusiveness, sensitivity, and the ability to interact respectfully with all people and value individuals' differences.

Times Needed
9:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Thursday (This is total operating hours of the Speaking and Writing Center) We will work with students schedules to provide a work schedule.

Special Instructions to Applicants
During the Fall and Spring, student employees are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week and must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours. During the Summer, holiday break and spring break student employees are allowed to work a maximum of 25 hours per week. Summer only, students must be enrolled in 3 or more credit hours. Student employees must always maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. *This position may require a background check. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
