Join our team as a Part-Time Behavioral Health Consultant at Yakima Medical-Dental Clinic in Yakima, WA!

As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will work sidebyside with primary care providers to support patients' behavioral, emotional, and chronic health needs through shortterm, highimpact interventions.

We offer a wide range of services such as medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutritional counseling, autism screening, and behavioral health. Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics.

Position Highlights:

  • 0.2 FTE (8 hours a week)

  • Clinical Psychologist:

    • $61.06 per hour

  • Master's-level independently licensed therapist:

    • $50.88 per hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide onsite behavioral health consultations within a primary care clinic setting

  • Respond to warm handoffs and maintain sameday access for providers and patients

  • Deliver brief assessments and evidencebased interventions

  • Consult with medical providers on behavioral health diagnoses and treatment strategies

  • Support chronic disease management through behavioral interventions

  • Participate in crisis triage and brief crisis interventions as needed

  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team to support population health goals

  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR

  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Clinical Psychologist Requirements:

  • Education: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology.

  • Experience Preferred: One year's clinical experience working within a multidisciplinary team in primary care or other medical settings, providing diagnostic and psychological assessments for primary care-based positions. One year's clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in specialty behavioral health settings.

  • Licenses/Registration: Licensed Psychologist within the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.

Master's Level Therapist Requirements

  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family or related field.

  • Experience Required: Two years of postgraduate/master's experience in the direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance; such experience must have been gained under the supervision of a mental health professional. Washington State designation as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) may be substituted for this experience requirement.

  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire. One of the following licenses is required for this position at time of hire:

    • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Additional Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
