School of Digital Media

  Advertised Salary: $14.00   Summary of Position:

Support daily operations of School of Digital Media labs-enforcing lab rules, maintaining equipment, managing seat reservations/usage-and assist in other programspecific tasks.

DAGD Lab: Advising students on software operation. Guiding, advising and consulting on projects. Maintaining order in the labs.
Esports Lab: Assisting production and content team to create media for social media and broadcasts.

  Position Type: Student Position   Position Requirements: Familiarity with the rules, practices, and workflows of collegiate digital media labs such as esports or Digital Animation and Game Design (DAGD)
Basic computerhardware and software troubleshooting skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Some understanding of Ferris State University structures and resources
Availability to work scheduled shifts from Esports Lab Hours - 4 PM-12 AM on weekdays and 12 PM-12 AM on weekends; DAGD Lab Hours - 8 PM-12 AM on weekdays and 2pm-10PM weekends.
Preferred interest in content production and digital media; experience with socialmedia and contentcreation software (Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects - and/or DaVinci Resolve)   Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Greet and assist all participants and visitors in the labs, enforcing lab rules and safety protocols
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, peripherals, and workstations
Manage seat reservations, checkin procedures, and track lab usage statistics
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab and equipment storage areas
Support event setup, staffing, and breakdown for program activities
Attend regular team meetings and contribute ideas for improving lab operations and strategies

Other Duties May Include:
Capture and edit game clips/highlights; produce graphics and shortform videos for social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
Assist with live broadcast production, including camera setup, scene transitions, and overlay management
Coordinate with production teams to resolve audiovisual issues during streams or media projects
Assist with content creation, media production, or other programspecific projects for esports, Digital Animation and Game Design (DAGD), or related disciplines
Other duties as assigned
