Job description

Role: Sr. Snowflake Data Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC or Concord, CA (Hybrid: 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday)

Duration: 6+ Months of Contract

Must-Have Skills:

- Snowflake

- DBT(Data Build Tool)

- Fivetran

- Python

- Advanced SQL

- Azure

Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture & Strategic Design: Define and drive the technical vision for the modern data architecture on Azure and Snowflake. Optimize compute and storage costs.
2. Engineering Excellence & Team Leadership: Write, optimize, and review complex code in Python and SQL. Define engineering best practices and mentor junior to mid-level engineers.
3. Data Governance & Reliability (DataOps): Implement data observability and quality solutions, maintain data lineage, and ensure strict compliance and security.
4. AI/ML Enablement & Innovation: Partner with Data Science teams to architect infrastructure for AI/ML models and pilot GenAI techniques (e.g., Snowflake Cortex).
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
- Expert proficiency in Python and Advanced SQL, with deep experience in Snowflake and Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with dbt and workflow orchestration (Airflow, Azure Data Factory).
- Experience in the Financial Services or Asset Management industry is highly preferred.
