Lab Support Senior Engineer
Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. Responsibilities
What you'll achieve
As a Lab Support Senior Engineer, you will design, deploy and maintain infrastructure across datacenter and validation lab environments. Your role will involve provisioning new equipment, configuring servers, managing networking and storage and troubleshooting issues to keep engineering teams productive. You'll gain experience with advanced servers, switches and storage systems, while supporting cutting-edge development and validation work.
You will:
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot servers, networking switches and storage appliances
  • Ensure security compliance, monitor vulnerabilities and drive remediation plans
  • Automate tasks such as OS deployment, patching and lab infrastructure updates (VMware ESXi/vCenter patching/Linux/Windows)
  • Collaborate with engineering partners to translate technical requirements into lab-ready solutions
  • Maintain lab automation tools, document procedures and contribute to standardized workflows

Essential Requirements
  • Proficient in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience working in datacenter or lab operation environments
  • Strong knowledge of Dell PowerEdge servers, storage devices, particularly PowerStore, and networking fundamentals (switch configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, Debian, Ubuntu) and virtualization technologies (VMware, vCenter)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, ownership-driven approach and communication skills for documenting work, managing tickets and engaging with engineers

Desirable Requirements
  • Familiarity with PowerAutomate/Power BI; experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB); knowledge of cybersecurity practices (firewall configuration, intrusion detection)
  • Project management skills with exposure to Agile methodologies

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $83,045.00 - $107,470.00
