Who are we looking for?

We're seeking a Team Leader - Cloud Enablement and DevOps to join our Technology team. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll guide the Platform Solutions team in delivering optimal technology solutions that continuously modernise our platform foundations, enable the productivity of GHD staff, and contribute to the winning of work from GHD clients.

In this dynamic role you will:

  • Direct project and operational delivery for Platform Solutions products and services.
  • Lead the development of scalable cloud platforms and platform engineering frameworks that accelerate computing solutions across GHD.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by working with stakeholders across GHD to implement best practices in DevOps and FinOps.
  • Develop cloud standards, policies, and best practices to ensure the security, reliability, and performance of cloud solutions.
  • Research and evaluate new cloud technologies and trends, recommending solutions that enhance GHD's competitive edge and innovation.
  • Monitor the performance of platform solutions technologies to minimise the risk of outages, system errors, and related issues.
  • Provide effective problem-solving and analysis, support escalations, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage upgrades and planned system outages in accordance with change processes and guidelines; contribute to projects, deployments, and initiatives.
  • Play a key role in developing and delivering the Platform Solutions strategy and business plan across GHD.
  • Collaborate with peers and support the effectiveness of the Global Technology team.
  • Collaborate as needed to design and build solutions to support GHD's clients.
  • Proactively update your manager on work progress, improvement opportunities, and potential issues.
  • Produce professional and quality reports, communications, and presentations as required.
  • Build and maintain collaborative and positive relationships with your team, peers, and other IS teams.
  • Securely design, implement, and manage GHD ICT systems and services, managing technical risk in accordance with the GHD Risk Management Framework.
  • Continually build your knowledge of GHD's business and technologies, staying up to date on industry and technology trends.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and guide your team to foster a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.
  • Set clear goals and expectations, provide ongoing feedback and development, and effectively manage team issues.
  • Facilitate open communication, knowledge sharing, and cross-skilling within your team and with other teams.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, quarterly check-ins, wellbeing checks, and team meetings.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding activities for new team members to support a positive employee experience.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Expertise in automation frameworks, agile methodology, DevOps processes, FinOps processes, programming languages, software-defined datacentre, and related topics.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure solution architecture and related systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of DevOps quality assurance processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of vulnerability management and resolutions.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant networking components and their involvement with distributed architectures.
  • Highly developed technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, including remote and cross-cultural leadership.
  • Proactive, professional, and collaborative communication style, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Highly organised, attentive to detail, decisive, self-managing, and motivated.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a global professional services organisation in a large helpdesk/desktop environment or system administrator role.
  • Team leader experience.
  • Experience in large Microsoft environments supporting enterprise datacentre environments, including public/private cloud.
  • Relevant industry certifications.

Benefits: 

Salary Range Depending on Experiences: $97,800.00-$160.000.00

  • 401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service
  • Paid time off - Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
  • Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
  • Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement  program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.-Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices
