Job description

The Infrastructure Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in driving Milestone Technologies' infrastructure solutions with an emphasis on datacenter architectures optimized for AI workloads, DevOps automation, and robust observability. Leveraging deep technical knowledge, visionary architectural skills, and a consultative approach, this role will lead infrastructure transformation initiatives, optimize system performance, and ensure secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure environments.

You will collaborate with executives, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop consulting services solutions consisting of infrastructure roadmaps, solution architectures, and deployment strategies tailored to meet customer demands for performance, reliability, and agility in complex technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategy

  • Develop and articulate comprehensive datacenter infrastructure including reference architectures optimized for AI and ML workloads.
  • Partner with senior leaders to assess existing infrastructure environments, identify gaps, and propose strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

Technical Leadership & Solution Design

  • Drive infrastructure solution design emphasizing Datacenter Infrastructure - Physical Deployments, Operations and Day 2 Execution of AI Factories. Networking, Servers, Storage, Clusters, and underlying services.
  • Conduct capacity planning, scalability assessments, and performance tuning to support demanding AI/ML computational environments.

DevOps & Automation

  • Champion and implement DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes), and automation best practices.
  • Mentor technical teams in adopting automated deployment, configuration management, and infrastructure orchestration to enhance system reliability and agility.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor translating complex infrastructure strategies and technical architectures into clear business value for senior executives and technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Delivery, Engineering) and external technology partners to ensure alignment of infrastructure solutions with organizational objectives.

Security & Compliance

  • Embed security best practices into all infrastructure designs, aligning with industry frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2) and standards for zero-trust and identity management.
  • Ensure adherence to governance, risk management, compliance requirements, and industry standards.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, specifically in datacenter advancements, GPU/accelerated computing platforms, and observability innovations to continuously refine infrastructure services.
  • Lead and facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote innovation and knowledge sharing within infrastructure and engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

Extensive Infrastructure Architecture Experience

  • Proven track record defining and implementing complex infrastructure solutions, particularly in datacenter environments optimized for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) - Servers, Storage, Networks.
  • Deep understanding of datacenter technologies, server/storage architectures, virtualization (VMware, KVM), and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

DevOps Automation & Tooling

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation), scripting (Python, Bash), and CI/CD pipeline automation (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative development practices.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, effectively communicate with senior leadership, and drive complex infrastructure projects from inception to delivery.

Project & Service Management

  • Proficiency in managing infrastructure projects, writing technical proposals, creating project estimates, and managing budgets and timelines.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure Architect certifications, TOGAF, CNCF certifications).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Systems Infrastructure, Architecture, or related roles.
