Databricks jobs also allow for dependency management and orchestration across multiple tasks within a workflow.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Databricks position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Databricks role, you need strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Scala, a deep understanding of data engineering or data science principles, and typically a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Job description

RDQ427R130
At Databricks, we are passionate about enabling data teams to solve the world's toughest problems - from making the next mode of transportation a reality to accelerating the development of medical breakthroughs. We do this by building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform so our customers can use deep data insights to improve their business. Founded by engineers - and customer obsessed - we leap at every opportunity to tackle technical challenges, from designing next-gen UI/UX for interfacing with data to scaling our services and infrastructure across millions of virtual machines. And we're only getting started.
More about the team:
A great platform needs an exceptional developer experience. Databricks Repos is the source control and workflow foundation that powers how data engineers, ML engineers, and analysts manage code, collaborate with teammates, and ship data and AI applications to production. The Repos team builds the version control experience inside Databricks and defines how users connect their Git providers, manage code changes, track lineage, review pull requests, and promote code into jobs, pipelines, and deployments.
We are responsible for creating a simple, reliable, AI native workflow that blends the best of Git style development with the unique needs of data and AI teams. Our mission is to provide a smooth authoring to production journey across notebooks, SQL, Python, and Lakeflow, all in a unified platform.
You will drive the vision and roadmap for Databricks Repos and define how developers build, test, review, and ship code inside Databricks. You will work across Workflows, Notebooks, Lakeflow, Data Management, and the broader Developer Experience teams to deliver an integrated and intuitive path to production.
The impact you will have:
  • You will design the end to end path to production experience for data and AI teams, from authoring to Git integration to CI and CD.
  • You will define how Repos integrates with GitHub, GitLab, and Azure DevOps to support branching, pull requests, reviews, conflict resolution, and deployment workflows.
  • You will partner with engineers to build AI assisted code management features such as automated code suggestions, recommended diffs, merge help, and deployment validation.
  • You will represent the voice of the customer and translate user feedback into workflow improvements that simplify source control and release management.
  • You will improve developer productivity and reliability by aligning Repos with Databricks Workflows, Lakeflow, and deployment surfaces.
  • You will help grow adoption of Databricks developer tools by working closely with solutions architects, customer success teams, and enterprise platform owners.
  • You will grow end-user engagement with Databricks developer tools working closely with sales and customer success teams.

What we look for:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager working on platform products
  • Experience building developer-facing products (tools, frameworks, SDKs) with tens or hundreds of thousands of users
  • Experience being a hands-on builder, must be comfortable using our own developer-facing products.
  • Passion for designing products that simplify user experience of technically complex products.
