Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

Owns the production plan of record for different programs across the 24-month MPP and near-term S&OE horizon and translates demand and program inputs into a feasible, capacity-aligned build plan, integrates engineering changes, and delivers the supply response into S&OP and S&OE. A deliberately technical seat — pairs functional planning depth with hands-on Python / Databricks development and early AI-modeling adoption to help define and build Rivian’s next-generation planning capabilities alongside internal software teams.

Responsibilities
  • Own the Master Production Plan — Build & maintain the 24-month rolling plan using RCCP; balance demand, capacity & material constraints.
  • Capacity & scenario modeling — Model line-rate and shift scenarios; surface critical-part constraints and trade-offs to the platform lead.
  • Integrate program changes — Translate Program Change Control Requests (PCRRs) into the timeline — feature cut-ins, effectivity & ramp impacts.
  • Near-term S&OE & allocation — Provide production inputs to weekly S&OE; support firm-zone, order slotting & BTS/BTO allocation with Scheduling.
  • Build planning tooling & models — Develop in Python / Databricks; prototype and pilot AI-assisted planning; partner with internal software teams to productize what works.
  • Shape advanced planning systems — Bring APS acumen to the advanced planning systems implementation — define what “good” looks like and drive toward automated, single-source planning.
  • Feed the forums & hold alignment — Deliver the supply response into S&OP and S&OE forums; keep the plan republished across SAP, Internal Planning Systems & Databricks as one source of truth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics or related field.
  • 5+ yrs production / supply-chain planning
  • Must have: Hands-on Python, SQL, & Databricks development
  • Early adopter of AI / ML planning models and Agent development
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, grow and adapt to ambiguous situations
  • Advanced planning system (Kinaxis / APS) acumen
  • Partners with software / data teams to build tooling
  • RCCP & capacity modeling; automotive preferred
