Job Title: Cloud Engineer- Azure and DataBricks
Location: Remote
Duration: 3 to 6 Months Contract to hire- East Coast hours

Summary of Position: We are seeking a Cloud Data Engineer with experience with Azure cloud infrastructure to engineer DataBricks and MS Fabric solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a variety of cloud hosts but have expertise in Microsoft Azure at a minimum.
Our Cloud Data Engineer position designs and implements cloud solutions per regulated Healthcare compliance requirements, ensuring the smooth functioning of cloud systems with minimal downtime or service disruptions. This position is part of the Enterprise Data Services team where design elements and risk remediation are addressed. The position consults with the Hospital finance, clinical, and operational business teams for system and service expectations. This position evaluates and selects supportable platforms, establishes best practices for cloud operations, and works with IT teams to monitor cloud privacy and address technical issues. The role also involves staying updated on cloud computing technologies, compliance, and trends and effectively communicating operationalizing cloud operations and deployments.
The ideal candidate will have experience with private cloud technologies (e.g., VMWare) and managing its life cycles. This position will need to understand cloud architecture, data management, and deployment methodologies in alignment with customer-driven new cloud initiatives. The candidate will also need to have an eye on opportunities for automation and mentorship of the support team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or Economics or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience & Training Required:
  • Three (3) years in an IT role (solution or technical cloud architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms).
  • Three (3) years of experience with the concepts, philosophies, and tools behind the design of creating a well-informed holistic cloud strategy and managing the adaptation process.
  • Exhibits strong analytical aptitude across various systems and solutions, internal and external to the organization. Analytical thinker with the ability to extend knowledge of information systems and applications to business processes and cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to explain complex, technical concepts to Client audiences and non-IT staff.
  • Evaluating cloud applications, platforms, hardware, and software
  • Developing and organizing cloud systems
Other Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
  • Experience with and a complete understanding of Azure, DataBricks, MS Fabric, and Epic Clarity or Caboodle.
  • Experience working in a Hospital Provider Setting.
  • Experience with Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle.
  • The ability and the knowledge to integrate services and tools to any areas to be used such as networks and data processing
  • Experience with meeting or exceeding the requirements of cloud provider service-level agreements Experience with Azure
  • Knowledge of programming languages including SQL, Python, R, Java, Node, and Object-Oriented Design Principles is beneficial.

  • The candidate will also be responsible for engineering on customer premise applications and systems interconnected to cloud resources
  • Designs and defines system cloud architecture for new or existing complex computer systems
  • Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security
  • May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software engineers
  • Analysis of current processes and development methods to determine optimization potential plus subsequent planning for implementation of identified opportunities.
  • Collaborate with management and other architects to determine "Future State" cloud applications and determine plans to achieve them.
  • Provide technical and process guidance on relevant IT projects.
  • Be the subject matter expert for any new Azure cloud development technology that the organization wants to explore or utilize.
  • Support DevOps maturation: Development and Deployment process and support the running Environments (IIS, Server Support, SQL, Networking, etc.).
