We are seeking a Database Management Analyst
This job is located on-site Chesapeake, Virginia.
Compensation will be based on candidates' combination of the minimal requirements and preferred requirements.
ESN is seeking a Database Management Analyst to support a contract with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Atlantic, in Norfolk, VA. The contract to support NIWC LANT consists of Independent Validation & Verification, Operations, Sustainment, and Installation support. The Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) systems provide near real-time material-based readiness reporting to the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) and provides three additional primary capabilities to the Fleet including Ashore and Afloat systems. This support includes automated software testing, Scrum Master support, operating in the AWS Cloud, management of JIRA/Confluence, and project support.
Minimal Requirements:
Required Education: High School diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate.
Required Experience: 5 years professional experience solving technical problems. Trained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance. Possess a practical understanding of engineering concepts. Experience includes ensuring that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards. Professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
Required Specific Experience: Three (3) years' experience designing and maintaining AWS database solutions. Two (2) years' experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) solutions.
Preferred Requirements:
Preferred Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Experience: Ten (10) years with a Master's degree and fourteen (14) years with a Bachelor's degree of professional experience administering, testing,
and implementing computer databases which may include coordinating computer database changes; implementing security measures to safeguard
computer databases; and maintaining databases within an application area. Individual shall be capable of working individually or coordinating database
development as part of a team.
Preferred Certifications: SQL Server certification, or AWS Certified Database specialty, or Oracle Certified Professional
Secret Security Clearance required.
