Position Summary

Manages and maintains enterprise database systems supporting Avum's government applications. Ensures database health, performance, security, and compliance through proactive monitoring, patching, and optimization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain database health across production and development environments
  • Perform proactive database maintenance including tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
  • Apply security patches and ensure database compliance with STIG requirements
  • Design and implement database schemas, data models, and migration strategies
  • Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness procedures
  • Support development teams with database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain database documentation and runbooks


Compensation

The salary range for this position is $125,000 โ€“ $170,000 annually, with a target midpoint of $148,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and geographic location. Avum offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical (Cigna), dental and vision (Principal), 401(k), PTO, education reimbursement, and certification reimbursement.

  • Strong expertise in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability
  • Active Secret clearance

  • Experience with database security and STIG compliance

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • AWS database certifications
  • Experience with MarkLogic or NoSQL databases
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
