Job description

Indiana Sports Corp provides internship opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the not-for-profit industry. Internships are available based on business needs and can include event and volunteer operations; communications; marketing; graphic design; community engagement; sports tourism; business development; and finance. ISC's fast paced and entrepreneurial working environment offers each intern a rich experience within his/her chosen area; however, interns are exposed to all functional areas of the company to reinforce the important role collaboration plays in a successful company.Position OverviewThe Volunteer Program Intern will specifically focus on efforts related to the Indiana Sports Corp Volunteer Program, including volunteer recruitment, registration, communication, event operations, and appreciation for upcoming events.
The intern will gain knowledge and experience through assisting with volunteer onboarding, creating training materials, coordinating the volunteer operations at events, and volunteer customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting volunteer outreach to fulfill volunteer shifts for 2027 Horizon League Men's & Women's Basketball Championship, Division 2 Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championship, Big10 Men's Basketball Tournament
  • Become proficient within the VolunteerLocal platform to manage database, create events, and utilize other essential tools
  • Creating volunteer training and onboarding materials
  • Assisting with volunteer communications prior to, during, and post-event. This includes answering phones and responding to emails.
  • Managing volunteer operations onsite at assigned events
  • Creating opportunities for volunteer feedback like surveys
    Developing and executing volunteer appreciation/recognition opportunities
  • Assisting with ISC engagement strategies for volunteers and committee members.
  • Supporting event planning efforts for marketing and engagement events/meetings such as Locker Room Lunches, State of Sports, Volunteer Engagement Series, committee meetings, and community events
  • Executing tasks related to event marketing plans
    Assisting with concepting and implementing creative strategies around marketing & engagement efforts
    Assisting with community engagement, community events, and activations throughout the city.

Qualifications
Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Must be currently pursuing or have recently earned a degree from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
Internship Details
Term: January 19th, 2027 - May 7th, 2027
Schedule: 4-5 days per week (approximately 30-40 hours/week)
Stipend: $2000 Location: On-site - Indianapolis, Indiana. Relocation or housing is not available
