JOB TITLE: Intern, External Reporting
REQUISITION: ACC002A
DEPARTMENT: External Reporting & Property - Kansas City Headquarters 
LOCATION: Kansas City, MO
PAY RANGE: $19.00 - $23.00 / Hour

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (WFH Capabilities on Monday and Friday)

As an intern, you'll have real responsibilities, and you'll work on productive assignments with actual business interactions. We provide a number of intern events throughout the summer to burn some extra energy and provide, including volunteer events, power plant tours, lunch and learns, and more.
Intern Description:
Performs activities necessary for the timely, complete and accurate submission of assigned SEC filings including quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, and Monthly and Quarterly Financial Analysis for Management.  Compiles complete and adequate financial disclosure in accordance with SEC, GAAP and other regulatory requirements through authoritative knowledge, research, recommendation and communication of treatment and impacts of new/proposed authoritative guidance as well as applying authoritative guidance to new transactions.
 

Education and Experience: 
Second, third, fourth year or graduate level student actively pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.  Must have completed Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting I.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Must be dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and proofreading skills.  Ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel.  Proficiency in spreadsheet applications is required.  Knowledge of word processing, graphics, and database programs is beneficial.  Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently and effectively in a high stress, noisy environment.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:  None.

Working Conditions:  Normal office working environment.  Additional hours or weekends will be required to meet necessary reporting requirements.  Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
