 Recruiting & Onboarding Intern — Oliver’s Nannies of Lehigh Valley

Position Overview

Oliver’s Nannies is searching for an intern for the Fall 2026 semester to be a part of our close knit team.  The Recruiting & Onboarding Intern supports our talent pipeline by sourcing, screening, and onboarding qualified nannies and childcare providers. This role is ideal for someone interested in recruiting, childcare staffing, and HR operations. The intern will work closely with the Owner & Assistant to ensure candidates move smoothly through each stage of the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities

  • Candidate Sourcing — Identify potential nanny candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and community outreach.
  • Application Screening — Review resumes, assess qualifications, and evaluate childcare experience.
  • Phone/Virtual Interviews — Conduct initial screening calls to assess communication skills, professionalism, and fit.
  • Background & Reference Checks — Assist with verifying employment history, childcare references, and required certifications.
  • Onboarding Coordination — Support new hires through paperwork, training modules, orientation scheduling, and compliance requirements.
  • Database Management — Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system.(Matrix)
  • Interview Scheduling — Coordinate interviews between candidates and ownership.
  • Communication Support — Draft candidate emails, follow-ups, and onboarding instructions.
  • Assistance with After Hours Phone Calls
  • Process Improvement — Suggest enhancements to streamline recruiting and onboarding workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong interest in HR, recruiting, or childcare services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Comfort speaking with candidates over phone/video
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of Google Workspace
  • Prior childcare or customer service experience is a plus
