Oracle Database Developer (GIS)
Employment Type: Onsite
Annexa is currently supporting D.C. Government's Office of the Chief Technology Officer, and we are looking for a Oracle Database Developer with GIS experience to join our team. The developer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the database for an internal web application. This role will develop and maintain an Oracle database that supports the OSS. The database for this application currently utilizes spatial data and integrates with GIS software.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors project activities.
  • Develops technical database platforms to support users.
  • Develops, implements, maintains, and enforces documented standards and procedures for the design, development, installation, modification, and documentation of assigned systems.
  • Provides training for system products and procedures.
  • Performs application upgrades.
  • Performs monitoring, maintenance, or reporting on real- time databases, real-time network and serial data communications, and real-time graphics and logic applications.
  • Troubleshoots problems.
  • Ensures project lifecycle is in compliance with District standards and procedures.

Required Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle Database development.
  • 2+ years of experience with Database Administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with Spatial Queries and Geometry Objects.
  • 1+ years of experience with Data Model Visualization (especially ERDs).
  • Interest in using and/or learning GIS tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with Esri products.
  • 1+ years of experience Version control systems (Example: Git).
  • 2+ years of experience with planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities
  • Must be able to qualify for a journeyman level position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience

Desired Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience with leading projects, ensuring they are following established standards/procedures.
