Job Description
Position Summary
The Quality Management Systems (QMS) Co-op will support Quality Management System activities for the ADAS business unit in Farmington Hills, with a primary focus on Systemic Quality initiatives and compliance with IATF 16949 requirements. The co-op will assist with quality data analysis, reporting, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement projects. This role provides hands-on experience with automotive quality management, audit support, and business intelligence tools such as Excel and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) activities to maintain compliance with IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Assist with the monitoring and analysis of quality data using Excel and Power BI.
  • Develop and maintain quality dashboards, metrics, and monthly management reports.
  • Support systemic quality investigations and problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
  • Assist with internal audit preparation, documentation reviews, and action-item tracking.
  • Support document control activities, including procedure updates and records management.
  • Help track quality objectives, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries for quality reviews and management meetings.
  • Coordinate and follow up on open actions from audits, assessments, and quality meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining quality databases and improving reporting automation.
  • Support cross-functional teams to help maintain customer satisfaction and product quality.
Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of data analysis and visualization techniques.
  • Interest in Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Interest in automotive electronics, ADAS, and emerging vehicle technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with large datasets and creating reports.
  • Basic understanding of quality core tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC).
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, SharePoint, or database tools is a plus.
Education Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum sophomore standing preferred.
