Paid engineering internships are available at our Headquarters facility in Springfield, Missouri, with opportunities in a variety of engineering departments throughout the 2026-2027 school year. Internships may be available during the fall, spring, and summer based on business needs and student availability. Normal working days are Monday through Friday.
Students may also be eligible to receive course credit for their internship. Check with your school's career center for additional information.
Qualified applicants must:
  • Be currently enrolled at the time of the internship in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or a related technical field.
  • Have successfully completed at least two years of coursework toward a bachelor's degree.

As an engineering intern, you may have the opportunity to:
  • Analyze electrical system data and assist with transmission, distribution, or other engineering studies.
  • Support relay, protection, coordination, load flow, system modeling, and other technical analysis projects.
  • Assist with testing, data collection, technical documentation, drawings, and reviewing reports for accuracy.
  • Work alongside engineers to investigate system events, trends, reliability concerns, or potential compliance issues.
  • Support plant and system improvement projects involving equipment, maintenance, controls, PLC systems, or new installations.
  • Help develop and maintain engineering tools, databases, scripts, procedures, and reports.
  • Assist with project specifications, construction or contractor information, and engineering recommendations.
