Job Description

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience supporting Oracle RDBMS and ASM environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills within complex database environments
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance analysis
  • Experience with SQL performance tuning including execution plans, SQL traces, indexing strategies, partitioning, and optimization techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems and system administration fundamentals
  • Experience developing Shell scripts and automation solutions
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage operational support responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
  • Flexibility to support rotating on-call schedules and after-hours production support activities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oracle Database Administration: Administer, monitor, and support Oracle database environments including Oracle RDBMS, ASM, RAC, and related infrastructure components
  • Database Monitoring & Support: Monitor database environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other tools to ensure system availability, stability, and performance
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze and troubleshoot SQL, database, and system performance issues through query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, partitioning, and performance diagnostics
  • Database Maintenance: Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, cloning, backup, and recovery activities across Oracle database environments
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation solutions utilizing Shell, Python, SQL, and PL/SQL scripting to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Issue Resolution: Respond to client requests, production incidents, database issues, and operational support inquiries while providing timely resolution and communication
  • Data Replication & Integration: Configure and maintain Oracle GoldenGate services and support data replication requirements across client environments
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Support: Assist with database architecture, planning, and migration initiatives involving Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or similar cloud platforms
  • Standards & Governance: Establish and maintain database administration standards, naming conventions, patching procedures, backup strategies, and operational best practices
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with application teams, infrastructure teams, and client-facing support organizations to resolve issues and support business objectives.
