Job Summary:
The Database Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of the organization's Student Information Systems (SIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, associated databases, and related enterprise applications. This role ensures the integrity, availability, security, and performance of institutional data while supporting reporting, integrations, business processes, and system enhancements.
The Database Analyst partners with technical and functional stakeholders to analyze business requirements, develop reporting solutions, improve data quality, support system upgrades, and optimize the organization's student information systems through effective database administration and continuous process improvement.
Essential Responsibilities:
โ€ข Administer and maintain the organization's Student Information Systems (SIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, associated databases, and related enterprise applications.
โ€ข Monitor database performance, data quality, security, and system availability to ensure reliable operations.
โ€ข Support system configuration, user access, security roles, workflows, and business processes.
โ€ข Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
โ€ข Design, monitor, and troubleshoot data integrations between the SIS and other enterprise applications.
โ€ข Coordinate software upgrades, patches, testing, and new functionality implementations.
โ€ข Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and develop data solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making.
โ€ข Perform database analysis, capacity planning, indexing, and performance tuning to improve system efficiency.
โ€ข Maintain database documentation, data dictionaries, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
โ€ข Identify and resolve database, reporting, and application issues while ensuring data integrity and security.
โ€ข Coordinate with software vendors and IT teams to resolve technical issues and implement enhancements.
โ€ข Develop training materials and provide technical guidance to end users on reporting and system functionality.
โ€ข Participate in data governance initiatives, business process improvements, and enterprise technology projects.

Required

โ€ข Experience supporting Student Information Systems or other enterprise applications.
โ€ข Experience with reporting tools, SQL development, data integrations, and ETL processes.
โ€ข Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred
โ€ข Experience supporting Ellucian Colleague and/or Banner
โ€ข Previous experience working in a higher education environment
โ€ข Experience supporting enterprise data integrations and data migration initiatives
