What success looks like in this role:

Position Summary

The Oracle Database Administrator designs, installs, configures, and maintains Oracle database management systems, including definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. This role optimizes the data environment by keeping databases finely tuned, automating incoming and outgoing data feeds, and troubleshooting data access problems.

The Oracle DBA establishes and maintains security and integrity controls, designs and builds relational databases, and supports software developers with database operations, working with data users to recommend appropriate solutions.

Core Responsibilities

Database Design & Administration

  • Works with leadership to define, develop, and recommend database and related data management policies and procedures, building on responsibilities such as:
  • Manages database backup / recovery and configures parameters and prototypes designed against logical data models.
  • Defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.

Performance & Capacity Management

  • Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, performance, and cost.
  • Drives end-to-end availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Supports multiple services and databases with diverse concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.

Technical Leadership & Automation

  • Acts as team/project lead on technical projects.
  • Provides technical, process, and functional guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Strategizes and owns the automation of administrative tasks.

Organizational Contribution

  • Assists in driving organizational activities and initiatives.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep expertise in Oracle database design, administration, and optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior staff.
  • Required to have familiarity and knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solution in Oracle.
  • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.
