Job description

Vencora Business Unit:
VBU - Covenir
Job Summary:
Covenir is a BPO partner to insurance carriers - and increasingly, a technology company that happens to serve them. The Platform is how that shows up day to day: modules spanning Print, Call Center, Virtual Mailroom, and Premium & Lockbox, built with an AI-assisted, 80/20 development model where AI handles the first draft and people handle the judgment. The Data Analyst owns the data and reporting that support Covenir's business - building and maintaining the analytics that give Operations, Sales & Marketing, and leadership a single, trustworthy view of performance, while scouting the AI tools and partnerships that inform Covenir's build-versus-partner decisions. The Platform is this role's current top priority, but scope extends to Covenir's broader data and reporting needs as priorities shift.
Job Description:
How Covenir's Values Show Up in This Role
  • Committed to WOW our Customers: The dashboards and numbers you produce are what leadership uses to make real calls - you make sure they're right, not just plausible.
  • Great Just Isn't Good Enough: You don't stop at a working report. You ask if the metric is actually the right one, and if there's a cleaner way to show it.
  • One Team, One Goal: Operations, Sales & Marketing, and IT/R&D all come to you with different questions - you treat all of them as your team, not just IT.
  • Passion for Excellence: Your analysis is clean enough that someone unfamiliar with the data could follow your logic without a walkthrough.

What You'll Do
  • Write SQL for data extraction, transformation, and reporting across Covenir's systems
  • Build and maintain executive-facing analytics and KPI dashboards - volumes, postage, and SLA performance by customer and business unit
  • Use Azure data services (Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Blob Storage) supporting the platform's data warehouse
  • Research and evaluate AI tools, vendors, and partnership opportunities (for example, document-intelligence platforms) to inform build-versus-partner recommendations
  • Translate operational and business questions from Operations, Sales & Marketing, and leadership into data requests and reporting
  • Apply AI-assisted analysis and workflow tools, consistent with Covenir's 80/20 model
  • Support data retention, security, and SOC compliance requirements as they apply to platform data

Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, with proficient SQL skills
  • Working knowledge of Azure data services (Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Blob Storage) or equivalent cloud data tools; AWS experience a plus
  • Fundamental knowledge of insurance BPO business processes across Print, Call Center, Virtual Mailroom, and Premium & Lockbox
  • Working knowledge of data collection across multiple business functions, and of data retention and access-control policies
  • Basic understanding of the AI/API sandbox and its available data workflows
  • Experience building executive-facing dashboards or KPI reporting
  • Comfortable researching and evaluating vendors, tools, or partnership opportunities
  • Ability to create clear, concise data analysis and reporting documentation for stakeholders across Operations, Sales & Marketing, and IT & R&D
  • Completes data security and confidentiality training, SOC compliance training, and cross-functional onboarding across Platform modules
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business), or equivalent experience
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the R&D Manager in support of Covenir's broader business needs

What an A Player Looks Like
  • Numbers you can defend. A players can explain exactly how a metric was calculated and why it's the right one, not just hand over a dashboard.
  • Translates business questions into data. When Sales & Marketing or Operations asks a vague question, A players know how to turn it into the right query.
  • Curious about AI tooling. A players actively track what's out there, not just when asked to evaluate a specific vendor.
  • Comfortable being the single source of truth. When numbers conflict across teams, A players are the ones who resolve which version is right.
  • Documents the logic, not just the output. A players leave behind reporting anyone can pick up, not a black box only they understand.

Is This Role For You?
Strong fit
  • Proficient in SQL and comfortable owning data
  • extraction, transformation, and reporting end to end
  • Enjoys translating vague business questions into
  • concrete data requests
  • Genuinely curious about AI tools and vendor
  • landscapes, not just the data itself
  • Comfortable being the tie-breaker when numbers
  • across teams don't match

Skip this role if
  • You want a narrowly scoped reporting role with no ambiguity
  • You're not interested in researching AI tools or vendors
  • You'd rather avoid being the one who resolves conflicting numbers
  • You need requests to come from a single, consistent source
