Job description

The Data Scientist is primarily responsible for supporting/leading AI-driven initiatives that will help drive revenuegrowth, efficiency/productivity, and patient Lifetime Value. The individual will be conducting prescriptive,predictive and informational analytics to identify actionable insights. Skills required include, but are not limitedto:
  • building machine learning algorithms
  • data engineering
  • natural language processing (NLP)
  • large languagemodels (LLMs) and any other required AI skills
  • Technical coding skills are also required and include SQL code,R-Markdown and Python.
Through the combination of statistical knowledge, AI skills and technical codinglanguages, a data scientist will be required to complete any assigned analytical projects in a timely and efficientmanner. Additionally, this position will be required to identify, plan and implement any other use cases for AItechnology to help drive business success and improvement. They will also take a key role in the planning anddevelopment of Lincare's AI platform and strategy. Projects and long-term strategy development should alwaysfocus on business impact and have measurable outcomes for success measurement. Additionally, this positionwill be required to work with other teams to gain insight and to provide technical training to others.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for data analytics / data science on massive sets of complex and, sometimes, unstructured data toprepare for statistical analysis.
  • Manipulates or converts data according to analysis needs; and develops approaches to deal with imperfections indata (e.g. missing values or inconsistent data formatting)
  • Identifies and executes on best approach for assigned project which may include skills including machine learning, NLP, LLMs, deep learning, neural networks or any other data science function.
  • Develops reports using complex formulas; analyzes and reviews results for accuracy.
  • Understands how to work with multiple data sources, and accurately accesses the correct data within complexdatabases based on business needs and reporting requirements.
  • Will be comfortable interacting at all levels of technology teams both internal and external to Lincare. (projectmanagers, database designer, information architecture, multilayer off-shore support centers, etc.)
  • Manages projects to ensure they are delivered successfully and in a timely manner.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve revenue, productivity/efficiency as well as enhance patient life time valueusing data science technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of basic Structured Query Language (SQL), python and R.
  • Advanced algorithm skills including logical regression, decision trees, random forest, clustering etc.
  • Specialized experience in statistics, data analysis with large datasets.
  • Knowledge of database technologies including DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • High interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation skills, with a high business maturity.
  • Able to think creatively and analytically to solve problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines/work independently.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor'sDegreein Mathematics, Analytics, Finance or other related field Required
  • Master's Degree in Machine Learning, Analytics, or MBA Preferred
  • A Minimum of 1 years' experience working with Tableau, or similar BI product, to
    produce visual analytics and dashboards Required
  • Experience working as an analyst or data scientist in a healthcare related field Preferred
  • Experience in developing Machine Learning Models/ LLMs, streamlining ETLoperations, Database management and Predictive analytics Preferred
