Their goal is to make data easier to understand and interpret, enabling better decision-making. This involves researching new visualization techniques, evaluating their effectiveness, and often collaborating with data scientists, designers, and subject matter experts. They may also work on creating tools or frameworks that help others visualize data more effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a data visualization researcher?

To thrive as a Data Visualization Researcher, you need expertise in data analysis, statistics, and visual design principles, often supported by a degree in data science, computer science, or a related field. Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau, D3.js, Python (matplotlib, seaborn), and knowledge of user experience (UX) research methods are typically required.
