Senior Data & AI Analyst

Harbourfront Wealth Management

Toronto, ON โ€ข On-site

CA$110K - CA$130K/yr

Full-time

Posted 10 days ago

Job description

Who we are:
Harbourfront Wealth is a dynamic industry leader specializing in financial services and wealth management. We are a fast-growing wealth management firm with over $22 billion in assets under administration, comprised of five integrated entities: CIRO dealer, investment counsel, asset manager, U.S. Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and insurance company. At Harbourfront Wealth, our core values start with the belief that great people make great companies.
Career opportunity: Harbourfront Wealth is seeking a Senior Data & AI Analyst to help transform how the firm uses data, analytics and AI to support better business decisions. This newly created role will focus on the consumption layer of our data platform: refining our Data and information Intelligence layer, developing new AI decisioning products, applying AI to practical business opportunities, and helping stakeholders turn insights into action.
This is not a traditional BI role. It's an opportunity to shape how Harbourfront uses AI-powered decision intelligence, combining analytics, AI engineering, and business consulting to deliver solutions that drive action, not just reporting.
Who you are:
You have a deep and genuine desire to get better at your craft; data, analytics, machine learning, generative AI: and you treat that craft as something you are never finished with. You read the white paper, you try the framework, you rebuild the thing you built last year because you now know a better way. You have opinions about tools, and you hold them loosely, because you have been wrong before and expect to be wrong again.
You will be responsible for:
  • Rationalizing and improving the firm’s Power BI reporting environment, including identifying reports to elevate, optimize or retire.
  • Designing and building decision products that help stakeholders understand what has changed, why it matters and what action to take next.
  • Applying AI, machine learning and advanced analytics to practical business use cases, including forecasting, anomaly detection, next-best-action recommendations and grounded summarization.
  • Building and maintaining trusted semantic models, curated datasets and consumption-layer data products using governed platform data.
  • Partnering with business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Compliance and advisor teams to understand needs and translate them into clear opportunities.
  • Developing and supporting production-oriented GenAI or retrieval-based solutions, with appropriate grounding, evaluation, security and governance controls.
  • Helping enable broader AI adoption through demonstrations, practical workflow improvements, stakeholder education and reusable skills or playbooks.

The ideal candidate for this position has:
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years in data, machine learning or AI engineering or software engineering, with demonstrated experience designing and deploying production-oriented GenAI or ML/AI-enabled solutions.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL and semantic modelling, including DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service and data visualization best practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience using Python and/or other tools for analysis, automation, modelling and data quality validation
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Fluent communication skills in English; bilingual skills in French are considered an asset.
  • Sound understanding of secure, responsible and governed use of data and AI, including privacy, access control, auditability and appropriate human oversight.
  • Strong ability to listen deeply, clarify business needs and translate technical work into practical business value.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 (actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
