Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time position opening in Lexington, Kentucky:
Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Strategist

Used by more than two million people each week, KET is Kentucky’s only statewide media organization, and broadcasts into 8 states and 10 media markets, along with providing live and on-demand streaming services. In addition to offering high-quality PBS programming, KET annually produces hundreds of hours of award-winning local productions and creates nationally recognized educational resources.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an outstanding, respected, and trusted public media team, and to support a wide variety of public affairs and general productions, including Kentucky’s only nightly statewide news program, six locally produced series, and ongoing special programs.
KET’s facilities are located in beautiful “horse country” with a thriving community that offers affordable living, outstanding educational opportunities, and world class sporting events. This is an opportunity to join an excellent television production team and to become a part of and grow with one of the most respected public media organizations in the country.
Our ideal candidate will:
Collect, consolidate and manage data from multiple internal and external sources, including digital platforms, CRM systems, fundraising systems, broadcast and streaming, email marketing, social media and other platforms as appropriate.
Design, develop and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards and automated tools that track organizational performance and key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop KPI frameworks, measurement plans and performance benchmarks aligned with organizational goals.
Translate complex quantitative information into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership, departmental management, grant reporting and other stakeholders.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms and dashboards.
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to maintain reporting integrations and troubleshoot discrepancies.
Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve organizational efficiency through business intelligence tools.
Support strategic planning, audience development, marketing effectiveness, fundraising performance and educational impact assessment through data analysis.
Respond to data requests from senior leadership and collaborate with departments to answer business questions through data.
Establish and maintain standards, policies and procedures that promote data quality, consistency and integrity.
Provide training and support to staff and departments on data collection practices, dashboard usage and reporting tools.
Monitor and ensure compliance with data governance standards, confidentiality needs, legal and regulatory requirements for data privacy (e.g. PII) and reporting requirements.
Participate in cross-departmental projects and committees that require data strategy, analytics or reporting expertise.
Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science or a related field and three or more years of experience working in data analytics and/or business intelligence or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
Experience collecting, organizing and managing large data sets from multiple sources.
Experience developing dashboards and reports using business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio or similar tools.
Knowledge and experience in the utilization of AI tools to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar software, including advanced functions, pivot tables and data manipulation.
Experience working with digital analytics platforms, including Google Analytics or equivalent measurement tools.
Demonstrated ability to present data clearly through visualizations, reports and presentations.
Strong organizational, project management and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SQL, relational databases and data warehouse concepts.
Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services or similar Microsoft analytics technologies.
Experience with audience, marketing, fundraising, media, education or nonprofit data.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality management and reporting automation practices.
Experience integrating data from streaming video, CRM, web, email, social media and financial systems.
Familiarity with Nielsen, GA4, streaming analytics, social media analytics and audience measurement platforms.
Experience supporting executive dashboards and organizational KPI reporting.
