Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on the storage and virtualization team, reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering. You will be challenged to think out of the box and solve complex systems configuration. Additionally you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Actifio's object storage file system, as well as designing and implementing new projects within the fields of data storage, virtualization and replication. You will collaborate with the team to design, implement, and create features that result in strong data consistence.
Responsibilities/Key Tasks
  • Responsible for enhancing and maintaining existing data protection software and designing and implementing new projects within the fields of data storage, virtualization and replication
  • Design and implement code for new solutions and products such as data replication, scalable application, and snapshot file systems
  • Enhance and maintain existing body of code
  • Respond to and promptly resolve issues and defects raised by QA and customers
  • Working on new products such as data replication sub systems, and new feature within our snapshot file systems
  • Collaborate with other teams on functional and implementation design, implementation and writing of tests, and will interact extensively with other software teams, QA, product management and field engineers as necessary

Qualifications
  • Implementation of file systems, volume management, storage virtualization, and replication
  • Strong knowledge of data protection principals, snapshot, backup/restore, and cloud based protection
  • Familiar with Windows file systems, APIs, and protection of OS and applications
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms, such as Hyper-V or VMWare ESX
  • Strong Object Oriented design/implementation skills, with object-oriented language, such as Java, C++, or C#
  • Proficient in performance optimization, code reliability, and problem solving skills
  • 5+ years experience in software development, with experience in at least one software product life cycle through design, implementation, and customer deployment
