Job description

Our work depends on a Storage Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Annapolis Junction, MD, Sterling, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

As a Storage Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted to engineer solutions for storage devices and backup technologies, as well as automating data share and access management.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Participating in requirement analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation of next generation Storage and Backup systems, both on and off premise

Collaborating with the Gov Technical Leads, storage vendors, and cloud providers to evaluate emerging storage technologies

Developing and maintaining the storage demonstration environment in the designated test lab

Develop and execute test plans for storage and backup solutions

Performing root cause analysis for major issues and recommend improvements

Providing storage upgrade recommendations and support system integration activities

Providing Tier 3/4 support to storage and backup platforms

Conducting system security engineering with a Storage/SAN focus

Installing, monitoring, and optimizing storage solutions to achieve Authorize to Operate (ATO)

Requirements

  • High School and 12+ years / Associate's and 10+ year /Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years/ Master's Degree and 6+ years of relevant years of experience required.
  • Expertise with enterprise storage and backup platforms (e.g., NetApp, Dell/EMC, Pure Storage, Cohesity, Rubrik, NetBackup) and hyper-converged solutions (VxRail, Nutanix).
  • Full lifecycle SAN administration experience including utilization analysis and capacity planning
  • Experience with VMware and virtualized environments
  • Proficiency in Windows and Red Hat administration
  • Familiarity with cloud storage solutions (AWS, Azure, Oracle)
  • Broad understanding across related technology domains such as virtualization, networking, Intel-based systems, data center migration, and disaster recovery
