Role Overview :

Responsible for translating the vision, goals and business requirements for a data analytics project or product into technical specifications. Designs fit-for-purpose data solutions using appropriate architectural design patterns that support business needs. Provides direction for data architecture design, planning and development and guides future updates and enhancements. Possesses a strong combination of IT, data governance, analytics, and creative skills. Plays a pivotal role in extending the next generation of the data ecosystem and operationalizing the most urgent data and analytics initiatives.
Job Title : Data Solutions Architect
Requirements -
  • Bachelor's degree in data management, computer science, information systems, mathematics, data/analytics or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3-4 years of work experience in data management disciplines including data integration, data modeling, solutions architecture, optimization and data quality
  • Knowledge of business systems and processes and their impact on data and analytics objectives
  • Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs
  • Business domain, data/content and process understanding
  • Understanding of the Business Intelligence, Data Engineering and Data Science and Data Governance processes and platforms
  • Thorough knowledge of relational and non-relational database theory and structured query language (SQL)
  • Understanding of common data architecture frameworks
  • Understanding of metadata models, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as of the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources
  • Skilled working across multiple deployment environments including cloud, on-premises and hybrid
  • Adept at applying software engineering methodologies and DevOps principles to data architectures and platforms to improve the communication, integration, reuse and automation of data flows across the organization
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and logical problem-solving abilities
  • Must be highly creative, collaborative, and able to communicate effectively with IT and business
  • Capacity to be productive when working independently or collaboratively
  • Ability to effectively manage time to handle competing high priority projects

Lead and Principal Positions Requirements (in addition to requirements above)
  • Significant experience in successfully launching, planning, executing data architecture projects
  • Strong employee development skills, which include onboarding, mentoring, and coaching staff
  • Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers
  • Proven ability to establish the strategic direction of a team and manage analytics projects
  • Persuasive with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with others, including team members and senior management
  • Skilled in all areas of analytics personnel management, particularly employee selection, training, performance evaluation and salary development

Pay
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $155,000 - $165,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.
Benefits:
As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a "free time" PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take the time needed for either sick time or vacation.
