Position Summary
Inframark is seeking a Field Service Manager to lead and oversee Field Service Technicians, service delivery, and implementation of field-related best practices and safety standards. This position is responsible for ensuring quality control, technician training, scheduling, and compliance with safety and operational policies while maintaining high standards of customer service and efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in process instrumentation, PLCs, process controls, and communication systems, along with leadership experience in field service operations-preferably in the municipal water and wastewater industry.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Technical Oversight
  • Work directly with Field Technicians to ensure strict compliance with all safety policies, training, and certifications.
  • Enforce the "Stop Work" policy in unsafe conditions and ensure all safety training is assigned, completed, and adhered to.
  • Implement and oversee Field Service Standards & Best Practices for project execution and service delivery.
  • Conduct quality control audits to ensure excellence in service and deliverables.
  • Supervise Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and Interns, overseeing daily operations and long-term professional development.

Staffing, Training & Performance Management
  • Oversee hiring, staffing, and resource planning to ensure the team has the required competencies to meet operational demands.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to develop and strengthen the skills of Field Technicians.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, maintain a skills matrix, and identify areas for improvement and training.
  • Promote an engaging and positive work environment to attract and retain top talent.

Business & Financial Management
  • Manage resource utilization rates, efficiency, and quality goals while balancing technician workloads across regions.
  • Collaborate with Regional Service Managers and Project Managers to coordinate customer requests, scheduling, and technical requirements.
  • Prepare and manage annual CapEx (capital expenditure) and workforce budgeting for the region.
  • Provide monthly performance metrics and actively track service utilization and efficiency throughout the year.
  • Contribute to the growth of productized service offerings and revenue generation for the Field Service division.

Customer & Project Support
  • Support customer requests and align technician qualifications to meet project requirements.
  • Assist with technical aspects of Field Service quotes, parts selection, and project estimates as needed.
  • Ensure all service work is delivered on time, within budget, and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by providing technical expertise, training, and post-installation support.

Hands-On Field Support
  • Perform Field Service work as needed to stay technically familiar with operational requirements and support the team.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and commissioning support for control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and networking equipment.
  • Attend industry events and technical conferences to stay up to date with industry advancements and expand Inframark's network.

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Field Service or Electrical work.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the municipal water & wastewater industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of process instrumentation, PLCs, relay logic, and process controls.
  • Experience with Radio & Cellular communication systems for industrial automation.
  • Experience with project estimation, sales support, and National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, contract documents, and P&ID diagrams.

Technical & Leadership Skills:
  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience in a field service environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with customers, technicians, and management teams.
  • Ability to mentor and train field personnel while ensuring team growth and development.
  • Electrical Contracting or Low Voltage Contracting License is preferred.
