Business Analyst/Data Business Analyst

Location: Billings Montana

Must-have Skills

  • An ideal candidate should possess a strong academic background with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline, along with 8-10 years of overall IT experience.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Business/Data Analyst in the Banking & Financial Services (BFSI) domain, working on enterprise Data, Analytics, or AI transformation initiatives.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Banking & Financial Services business processes, products, operations and regulatory requirements, including:

  • Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, documenting and validating business requirements through stakeholder workshops, interviews and discovery sessions.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into detailed Data Engineering, ETL, Analytics, BI and AI solution requirements.
  • Experience defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), business metrics, dashboards, reporting requirements and analytical use cases for Banking business functions.
  • Hands-on experience conducting source system analysis, data profiling, data quality assessment, data mapping and gap analysis across multiple banking applications and enterprise data sources.
  • Experience developing and reviewing Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents, business rules, transformation logic and data lineage documentation to support data integration and reporting initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise Banking applications and platforms such as Fiserv, Temenos, Finacle, Oracle FLEXCUBE, FIS, Mambu, SAP Banking, Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, or equivalent banking platforms integrated with Enterprise Data Platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to analyze, interpret and present Banking data insights.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, validating business outcomes, coordinating business users and obtaining business sign-offs.
  • Working knowledge of Banking regulatory and compliance reporting requirements, including support for audit, governance, data quality and regulatory initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional business, technology, architecture and delivery teams across onshore and offshore engagement models.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, user stories, sprint planning, acceptance criteria and release tracking.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, stakeholder management, facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage senior business and technology stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess strong Banking & Financial Services domain knowledge.
  • Gather and document business requirements from business stakeholders.
  • Translate business objectives into ETL and AI solution requirements.
  • Define KPIs, reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Conduct workshops for core banking, lending, deposits, payments, risk, compliance and other analytics use cases.
  • Create user stories, business process flows and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and review source-to-target mapping documents to support data transformation, integration and reporting requirements.
  • Support regulatory and audit reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate UAT activities and business sign-offs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8-10+ years of banking data analysis experience, with strong, hands-on Fiserv platform expertise (Premier, DNA, Signature, or related).
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of retail and commercial banking products, operations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to work with large datasets and deliver actionable insights.
