Job description

Location: Mt. Sterling, IL, or Chesterfield, MO
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Director of Security & Networking
Salary Range: $87,410 - $131,116 annually, plus bonus opportunity

WHO YOU ARE

You're naturally curious, proactive, and always looking for ways to reduce risk while keeping technology practical and usable. You’re skilled at troubleshooting, simplifying complex environments, and partnering with others to strengthen security across the organization. As Security Engineer, you will help operate and improve the enterprise security platforms that protect our users, data, applications, and infrastructure. You’ll support the configuration, integration, tuning, health, and effectiveness of controls across email, web, SaaS, network, browser, data, vulnerability, asset visibility, and external-threat security capabilities. You’ll work closely with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Identity, Legal, Privacy, and business teams to reduce risk while keeping security controls reliable and usable.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage and enhance enterprise security platforms and controls.
  • Configure and optimize security solutions across cloud, network, data, email, and web environments.
  • Monitor platform performance, identify security gaps, and support remediation efforts.
  • Support vulnerability management, threat monitoring, incident response, and data protection initiatives.
  • Integrate and automate security tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop documentation, reporting, and processes that strengthen security and simplify operations

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, systems administration, network engineering, or enterprise technology support.
  • Experience supporting enterprise security or infrastructure platforms.
  • Knowledge of one or more areas including SaaS/email security, web/DNS security, network security, data security, vulnerability management, or asset/exposure management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across security tools, integrations, policies, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Ability to balance security risks with usability and business needs.
  • Effective documentation, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • Experience supporting incident investigation or containment through security tooling.
  • Familiarity with APIs, scripting, workflow automation, or security orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with data loss prevention, data security posture management, cloud access security, secure web gateways, zero-trust access, vulnerability management, asset discovery, or digital-risk monitoring.
  • Experience creating metrics for platform health, coverage, effectiveness, or operational performance.
  • Relevant security, infrastructure, cloud, or networking certifications.

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Travel – Occasional overnight travel for internal trainings and meetings. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
  • Schedule – After hours on-call rotation to support business needs
