Job description

Position Summary...As Sr. Data Scientist in the Walmart+ Core Ops & Strategy Enablement team, you will be a senior individual contributor driving some of the most important experimentation and modeling work across Walmart+. You’ll design and analyze experiments, build propensity and churn models, and help turn successful approaches into reusable data science assets. Your work will directly support the Member Acquisition & New Benefits and Member Engagement & Retention teams and shape how one of Walmart’s highest-priority businesses tests, learns, and scales new ideas. What you'll do...
  • Design and analyze experiments that span multiple Walmart+ journeys, benefits, and channels, partnering closely with the Member Acquisition & New Benefits and Member Engagement & Retention teams.
  • Build and maintain models such as propensity, churn, and uplift to answer high-impact strategic questions and support critical decisions.
  • Translate test and model results into clear, actionable recommendations that inform product roadmaps, marketing strategies, and portfolio bets.
  • Refactor and standardize code and methods into reusable templates, feature sets, or libraries that other data science teams can leverage.
  • Partner with data engineering and platform teams to improve data pipelines and access patterns needed for fast experimentation and modeling.

What you'll bring...
  • A passion for experiment-driven decision making and the ability to balance speed with sound methodology.
  • Strong problem-structuring skills, turning ambiguous questions into tractable hypotheses, experiments, and models.
  • A collaborative, low-ego mindset that brings stakeholders along, especially partners across the organization.
  • Comfort working in a fast-evolving, high-priority environment, with the ability to prioritize and communicate tradeoffs.
  • A habit of owning outcomes, not just analyses – you care that the organization acts on what you learn.
About the team:
