Description
Dr. Alison Field, Professor of Epidemiology, and her team are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (100% FTE for at least 2 years) interested in investigating the causes and consequences of childhood and adolescent obesity. The postdoctoral fellow will work with a team of investigators from institutions across the Northeast on a NIH-funded project on phenotyping obesity using behavioral, psychological, familial, and genetic data.
Responsibilities include a) helping with the recruitment of participants in an ongoing cohort study to provide a DNA sample; b) conducting epidemiologic and biostatistical analysis; c) drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications; d) submitting and presenting abstracts at scientific meetings; and, e) overseeing data documentation.
The commitment for the position is 2-3 years. Qualifications
PhD, ScD, or DrPH in epidemiology or a related field in public health. The successful candidate will have a) methodological training in epidemiologic methods and biostatistics; b) programming skills (experience with SAS, R and/or latent class analysis are particularly desirable); c) content knowledge in obesity, appetitive behaviors, and/or behavioral genetics; d) peer reviewed publications; and, e) strong writing skills.
