Data Scientist
Sphinx Data Scientists provide an array of data analytics, engineering, mining, and development solutions. They leverage predictive analysis, statistical analysis, and other scientific techniques to correlate data into visualization and narratives that enable data-based decision making. Data Scientist in this position will provide support to a strategic intelligence program, enabling them to make operational decisions and establish priorities based upon a holistic understanding of the data. This position requires experience, passion, and a willingness to develop solutions to challenging problems with minimal oversight and direction.
Clearance: Must currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a CI polygraph after hire (if not before)
Location: Quantico, VA
Salary Range: $150,000-$225,000
Experience: Must have at least 5+ years of experience performing data analytics and data engineering using a various tools such as Tableau or Power BI, while also be experienced using data science languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
Description: The Data Scientist will provide full-spectrum data science and data engineering support to a strategic intelligence mission. Ensure efficient and organized use of intelligence information to inform senior leadership and drive operational priorities within the organization. Individuals interested in this role will provide Data Science subject matter expertise and be essential in the programs modernization through prioritization of data-based decision making.
Responsibilities
- Develop data analytics and modeling of intelligence information from high capacity data lakes
- Perform predictive analytics, statistical analysis, and trending based upon disparate data sources
- Manage and normalize a variety of data sources containing unstructured data into a resource capable of informing operational decision making
- Develop data management solution capable of ingesting historical data and normalizing newly generated intelligence information
- Correlate disparate indicators and artifacts across intelligence information types to identify and prioritize intelligence resources
- Guide and manage other Data Scientist and Data Engineers supporting similar projects and agency strategic objectives
- Develop or employ Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models to support agency's exploitation of intelligence information
Required Qualifications
- Must currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a CI polygraph after hire (if not already held)
- Must be a self-motivated, disciplined, and mature professional capable of operating with little tasking and oversight
- Must be capable of operating within a diverse environment and comfortable operating with limited guidance and oversight, maturity and self-motivation required.
- Must possess relevant Data Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML Development, or SharePoint Development experience
- Experienced with Data Science theories and techniques
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s Degree from an accredited school in a related discipline
- Experienced with development and administration of SharePoint architecture
- Relevant commercial or federal data science/engineering certifications
- Familiarity with the intelligence lifecycle and intelligence operations
