About this role:
The Data Scientist serves as a trusted professional that is experienced in problem-solving with real-world customer data and working with clients. At Cognira this role is expected to participate in design and implementation of client projects, as well as drive the development of general models used in forecasting. You will play an important role in shaping our forecasting processes, from architecting innovative feature sets and training cutting-edge models to refining their predictive power. You'll also partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into high-impact business solutions, directly influencing real-world retail strategies.
What will you do:
  • You will develop new models and algorithms that allow our clients to make strategic decisions for promotion and pricing.
  • You will implement new features in Cognira's forecasting platform.
  • You will be responsible for implementing forecast and strategy solutions using Cognira's forecasting platform.
  • You will apply a wide range of statistical and quantitative analysis in practical and valuable ways to real-world business problems.
  • You will be processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • You will help create and maintain rich visualizations through data interpretation and analysis.
  • You will write maintainable and well-documented code.
  • You will learn and work with subject matter experts from other teams and business representatives from our clients.

What you bring to the table:
  • Excellent academics in computer science, math, statistics or the physical sciences.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to innovate new solutions or design algorithms that address real-world client needs.
  • Extensive Python expertise with a minimum of 5 years in the field, including mastery of essential frameworks like Pandas, PySpark, or NumPy.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
