The Data Domain Manager is responsible for serving as the strategic bridge between data capabilities and domain outcomes. This role owns the end-to-end data strategy for an assigned domain, ensuring data initiatives directly enable and improve the mobile app user experience. The Data Domain Manager partners with cross-functional teams to align data strategy with product priorities, driving trusted data solutions that support informed decision making and organizational goals.

This role operationally supports the team's direction, initiatives, and ministry efforts to achieve outcomes that further Life.Churchโ€™s mission and reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do Own Domain Strategy and Roadmapping
  • Translate domain product roadmaps into data requirements, identifying opportunities where data can unlock user value before engineering teams start building.
  • Represent the data perspective early in product planning and throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain a domain-specific data roadmap aligned with YouVersion's strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to ensure foundational capabilities support domain needs.
Drive Data Delivery and Accountability
  • Prioritize and sequence domain data work to balance strategic initiatives with operational requests.
  • Build institutional knowledge of domain-specific metrics, user journeys, and business logic.
  • Own the quality and trustworthiness for domain-specific datasets from ingestion through insight.
  • Apply governance and data quality standards while adapting them to domain-specific needs.
  • Ensure proper instrumentation, documentation, and accessibility of domain data assets.
Foster Collaboration with Key Stakeholders
  • Serve as primary data partner to product managers, engineering leads, domain leaders and executives.
  • Communicate data insights and opportunities in business context, connecting technical work to user outcomes.
  • Manage expectations and communicate tradeoffs when prioritizing data work.
Skills Needed to Succeed
  • Strong product thinking skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into clear data requirements and translate data insights back into actionable business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to clearly present complex data concepts to executive audiences.
  • Deep knowledge of the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data collection, storage, transformation, analysis, and activation.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective at self-leadership, prioritizing work, and managing multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities with minimal direction.
  • High school diploma or GED.
