MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist in Fort Meade, MD, to drive cutting-edge statistical analytics and cloud-based data solutions for national security objectives.

In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts and customers to guide analytic development from prototype to production, delivering high-value data-driven insights while laying the groundwork for the future integration of machine learning into mission operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Executing and contributing technical expertise across multiple data science and analytic development efforts in a secure cloud environment.
  • Collaborating with customers, intelligence analysts, and Subject Matter Experts to align analytic requirements with mission goals.
  • Prototyping and transitioning data pipelines and advanced analytics into scalable, operational environments.
  • Applying statistical modeling, data analysis, and graph-based approaches to complex datasets, preparing workflows for future machine learning applications.
  • Managing individual analytic tasks and delivering high-quality technical work to meet project objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or technical field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, data science, physics, or related discipline) or 4 additional years of direct relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related technical role.
  • 7+ years of experience working with standard data analysis tools, frameworks, or languages (such as Python, R, SQL, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining data workflows, pipelines, and analytic prototypes within secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Practical knowledge of advanced statistical modeling and foundational machine learning techniques, with familiarity in containerization and modern Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) to support the team's evolving Machine Learning roadmap.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment.
  • Frequently communicates with coworkers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
