Job Summary:
1872 Consulting is a company seeking a Data Science Manager to lead their Data Science/Computational Linguistics group. The role involves establishing operational objectives, leading collaborative projects, and developing models for text and author data.
Responsibilities:
• Establish operational objectives and work plans for the Data Science/Computational Linguistics group that meet the strategic objectives of the AI team.
• Lead projects requiring collaboration across engineering and product teams. Deliverables are production ready prototypes for innovative product solutions enabling AI-assisted analysis on social media and survey data.
• Develop models for text and author data using well-honed technical and analytic skills.
• Drive the collaborative design of processes for development and deployment of models.
• Present results to both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers and internal executives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 6+ of software industry experience in Data Science or Natural Language Processing
• 2+ years of experience in managing technical teams or track record of technical leadership excellence
• Hands-on experience with scalable machine learning techniques applied to both structured and natural language data
• Extensive hands on experience with Python
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and Natural Language Processing methods
• Authorization to work in the US (including Canadian citizens) and willingness to relocate
Preferred:
• Understanding of deep learning algorithms and workflows
• Familiarity with technologies like Tensorflow, SparkMLlib, and Scikit-learn
• Experience with big data, including Apache Spark and Hadoop
• Experience with social media data
• Experience with Java
• Advanced degree in Computational Linguistics, or Computer Science with a focus on Natural Language Processing
