Title: Quality Improvement Specialist

Position Summary

The Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist supports the organization’s efforts to improve service quality, administrative processes, consumer outcomes, and program effectiveness. This role works collaboratively with program staff and leadership to assist with data collection, analysis, and implementation of quality improvement activities. The QI Specialist will be comfortable working with data across various platforms and have a basic understanding of quality improvement methods.


This is a full-time (35 hr/wk) role based out of our Greenfield office, serving the Franklin County, and North Quabbin area. Key Responsibilities

Administrative Quality Improvement (QI) Support

  • Assist in planning and implementing quality improvement (QI) initiatives across programs.
  • Provide coaching on the use of continuous quality improvement tools (e.g., Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles).
  • Track and document progress on quality improvement plans and follow up on action steps.

Data Management, Collection & Analysis

  • Collect and synthesize data from multiple sources.
  • Assist in data clean-up activities.
  • Design, administer, and compile customer satisfaction and needs assessment surveys.
  • Generate routine reports and summaries of program performance.
  • Perform statistical analysis and identify trends and patterns to assist with planning and projects.
  • Assist in data analysis and data visualization, including creating and updating dashboards and spreadsheets.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain documentation needed for audits, site visits, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor program adherence to internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct record reviews including summarizing findings and presenting data.

Technical Training & Guidance

  • Participate in ongoing training in QI concepts, data systems, and reporting tools.
  • Develop simple tools, templates, and guides for program use.
  • Organize and assist in agency-wide QI training.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics/data science, computer science, business administration, healthcare administration, human services, nonprofit management, or related field required.
  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, human services, program support, or related areas.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including
  • Formulas, data validation, forecasting, pivot tables, data visualization
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • SQL, Python & BI Tools a plus

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with databases or case management systems.
  • Understanding of quality improvement, data analysis, and program evaluation.
  • Ability to learn new systems and concepts quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist is supervised by the Program Director of Quality Improvement.
