Credit Risk Intern

About the Role

As Credit Risk Analyst II Intern, you will conduct ad-hoc analysis/project implementation to enhance portfolio performance and develop models to forecast delinquencies, losses and revenues. Additionally, you could analyze portfolio risk of the Kohl's charge product while developing and implementing strategies that enhance revenues and mitigate losses for the portfolio.

What You’ll Do

Accountabilities

  • Review standard and intermediate ad hoc analysis requests from business partners for customer, program, offer and/or channel needs.
  • Consult with business partners to identify primary and secondary business analyses and KPIs required to support business decisions.
  • Develop end-to-end project timelines for analysis deliveries.
  • Identify and collect primary and secondary data variables to holistically answer business questions.
  • Maintain an understanding of the structure and location of various data sources to be utilized.
  • Independently pull and manipulate data to determine results and develop data visualizations into relevant conclusions.
  • Identify and set up processes for data quality checks.
  • Execute setup and data pull for analyzing various credit programs, including A/B Testing.
  • Review relevant data sets and analyses to develop detailed and informed insights and implications to inform strategy and decisions.
  • Organize insights, data and visualizations into comprehensive stories for distribution to leadership partners in support of internal business decisions.
  • Create and analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
  • Develop forecasting loss models for delinquencies, contractual, and manual - dollars and units.
  • Develop forecasting revenue models – for interest, fees & outstanding - dollars and units.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned.

About the Internship

  • Dates: The internship is 10 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 7th and ending on Friday, August 13th, 2027.
  • Location: This role is based out of our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
  • Housing: Housing and transportation options will be provided for interns based out of the Corporate Office.
  • Working Arrangements: As a Kohl’s intern, you’ll work in a hybrid-model, working in the office Monday-Thursday. Fridays are a flexible working arrangement date, where associates are able to work from home. However, for our interns, there are occasionally in person events on Fridays.
