Data Scientist I (Logistics)

Job Summary

The DataScientist Isupportend-to-end analytics and modelinglifecycles, transforming structured and unstructured data into actionable insights that inform business decisions and customer understanding. This role applies statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and programming skills (e.g., SQL, Python, R) to develop,validate, deploy, andmonitorpredictive models while ensuring data quality, compliance, and scalability.

Working closely with data science leaders, IT, and business partners, the Data ScientistIcommunicates complex findings through clear visualizations and business-ready narratives to drive both short- andlongtermstrategic outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Work closely withLogisticsData Scienceand EngineeringTeam to improve the data collection,qualityand influence insights
  • Partner with ITandLogisticsOperations to ensure datareadiness formodelingincludingdata source identificationandpre-processing
  • Profile data to analyze quality, volume, and business rules
  • Support data transformationsusingtools and languages such as SQL, Python, or Alteryx
  • Documentandrefinecode for analysis
  • Support development of predictive models that supportlogisticsbusiness processes
  • Create data visualization and insightsusingPower BI or other code-based visual tools
  • Link analytics with short and long-term business strategy to drive profitable sales
  • Support thelogisticsbusiness to drive better decisions and insights from data

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degreerequired(preferably in Data Science,BusinessAnalytics, or a related field)
  • SQL experience and experience using a scripting languagesuch asPythonor R
  • Familiaritywith data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BIor Tableau
  • Familiaritywithdatascienceor machine learningmethods and conceptssuch asSupervised and Unsupervised Learning, Classifications, Regression, Text Mining,and other ML techniques
  • Understanding of statistical concepts andquantitative techniques
  • Exposure totechnical, analytical,and advanced mathematics

Preferred experience

  • 1-3yearslogisticsor supply chainoperationalexperience
  • 1-3 years of data science experience
