Job description

Overview
At Lutron, we are transforming how people experience light through intelligent, connected lighting devices and systems. As a Data Scientist, you will apply data science, analytics, machine learning, and AI to help improve customer experiences, products, and business operations. You will work closely with senior data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business partners to turn data into actionable insights and deploy models into production.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to end-to-end data science projects that improve product performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency, applying your strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches with clear metrics and success criteria,
  • Develop, test, and validate machine learning models and statistical analyses under guidance from senior team members
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to support deployment of models and analytics into production systems
  • Apply best practices in data cleaning, feature engineering, model evaluation, and documentation
  • Communicate findings, insights, and technical concepts clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Continuously learn and apply new data science and machine learning techniques relevant to Lutron's products and business

Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning
  • Proficiency in Python or R, with working knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with common machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and time series analysis
  • Experience using ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience deploying models into production environments
  • Exposure to cloud services from AWS, Azure, or similar providers
  • Experience working with IoT or sensor data
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices
